I really LIKE the way we can see the muzzle of the cannon, with the barrel oriented horizontally like that. The processing effect does look kind of cool, as does the fade-out around the perimeter of the image.
I take the image through Lightroom and into Photoshop where I convert to a "drawing" and tint back in using the history brush in a mix of Hard light and normal modes. When using this technique at school PTA fund-raisers, I can go from taking the image of a youngster to putting a 10x8 "painting" on plain card in 3 - 4 minutes whilst they watch. At a recent Young Chef competition I was doing this connected to a vast screen and ended up with quite an audience! The above image printed on paper from an artist acrylic pad did well at a charity auction last night. . . . .Suffering this am as "Carriages at 1am" and I was the MC!
