How did you manage to get your exposure so right?
Is this what RAW can do?
(Then I must learn how to shoot in RAW at long last!)

Corinna...you have to shoot in RAW!!! There is a small learning curve to edit, and the workflow sometimes takes a little longer...but it all worth it!

Yep! Shot in RAW. Metered for outside, then selectively lightened parts inside the arcade using Photoshop, being careful to leave enough darkness to reproduce what my eye saw (but the camera couldn't capture).
