I edited these. Sharpend 1. Removed grain on 2. Scan came back with a dirty sky but I like it. Up for CC.

The first one isn't doing much for me. The lines and shadows near street level look interesting, but the face of the building doesn't seem to add anything.

The second also has too much going on. Cropping the top to remove all of the sky and the top edge of the building, the bottom to remove the street and a little of the sidewalk, the left to remove the dark pole and the right about halfway to the door frame might give you a more interesting composition. At that point it might need leveling also.

That building is rad inside but unfortunately didnt have the latitude to see anything in there. Its a squaters spot filled with graffiti. One of those photos you keep your fingers crossed for and hope the film can get it all.

Cropping all that on #2 would bother me but I will take your advice as to get closer and compose better. I'm not much of a minimalist but because your not the first person to say my stuff is too busy, I'm going to take some more time and get another frame with city space for a simpler frame.

#4 works well enough as is, although I'm tempted to look at the left half separately also. When you see a scene like this do you take several shots with different framing and different magnification (moving in and out or zooming)? Many complicated scenes have several workable images within them and "working the subject" a little increases your chances of finding what works best for you. Printing/viewing this one larger might remove my temptation to crop by giving me a better look at the details in the image - you just can't judge this sort of image at this size.

Usually I don't take several shots. Most of the time I will be heading somewhere and have my camera on me. Take them as I go. Also I never rock out with my zoom. Its a cheep plastic lens that came with my nikon fm10. If I feel like my subject is rad, I will have to take a couple extra shots from now on.

Frame left on #4 is more redbrick. Didnt feel right looking through the viewfinder. The building was covered in vines, got a good one of that with a plus 2 red filter. Some reason the lab forgot to scan that for me.
