I was out kayaking on a local lake today and came across some Nodding Beggar Tick plants in bloom for the first time this season. Figured I'd take a couple of pics to display on our State Plant Society webpage. It was windy and wavy so I switched over to the Electronic exposure setting for it's faster shutter speed and snapped off three quick shots. Looked ok in the playback, so I paddled on. It wasn't until I came home and was reviewing the photos that I realized that a Dragonfly nymph had been climbing the stem in order to complete it's morph into an adult. Pity I wasn't paying closer attention to what I was seeing. I would have hung around a bit to see what was going to happen. As it was I had to be satisfied with what I (actually the camera) achieved. Another lesson in life. The pics are heavily cropped.
