Digital Backs??

Just curious if any of you kind folks have any experience using some of the medium format digital backs on the market. I dont know much about them, other than that they can get up to insane resolutions(like 30megapixels) and probably cost a small fortune. bu i start at the art institute of colorado soon and i was told ill be using cameras with digital backs as well as my dslr.
do they make backs for 4x5? just curious, cause ive never even thought of using one!
