Doing a little editing work in crappy light to see if I could pull out a decent image.
First, a Snowy Egret was on a rather bland mid-tone heavy BG
"White on Light"
The second was a bit too dark in a quite drab BG. I gave some contrast to the thready grasses to make them stand out against the darker but still boring BG, then did a color selection on the greens and bumped both the greens and yellows within a Curves adjustment layer with a Multiply blend mode at 27%. I only touched the Heron with a light-lights luminosity mask to tone down the highlights.
