And so it begins...

No snow in our forecast, but it's supposed to get down to about 29 (F) on Friday night--I'm determined to go out birding on Saturday, but...29 degrees?!?! UGH...I am NOT ready for this. This is the earliest in the year I've ever felt that "I simply CANNOT make it through another winter" feeling. In fact, I just told my boss this morning that I'd be late tomorrow but I thought I'd probably be in the office by about...March. :lmao:

It's sunny and 50 here now with a hight about 70. No complaints from me, except that I have to be in my office all day.

When I was a teenager, both of my grandmothers lived in Florida and I *hated* the idea of living there--even back then, I didn't like the cold, but I *did* like to have at least a remote chance at a white Christmas, and even more, the possibility of enough snow for the schools to close (which, around here, doesn't really take that much, and in Atlanta, where I went to high school, it took even less!).

But the older I get, the better the idea of retiring to Florida looks to me...I do adore East Tennessee but the winters may yet LITERALLY be the death of me...

I'm actually not dreading this winter, I have my darkroom one step away from being set up and ready to go so I have something to keep me very busy on cold snowy days! woot!!

last winter we got dumped on with over 3ft of snow with one storm. Snow blowers where useless, So good old hand shovel labor was needed. It really sucked big time.
