Discrepancy

Not bad. Maybe a little warm?

Nice. I think a slightly bigger slice of the car would help the idea out here, but, you have what you have, eh?

It would have been interesting to see what it was like without the title. It takes a bit of work to understand what it's a picture OF, and the title kind of gives the show away.

Yes, 4.2 litre Audi against 420 litre Waste bin... Size not always matters..

A raggedy dressed man digging through a trash can around the corner from an expensive Audi?

I do need some help here to understand.

This is a juxtaposition of Rich and Poor divided by a wall, methinks.
The only problem here the guy at the waste bin could well be the Audi owner. You never know these days.

that's how I dress when I put out the recyclables.

I think that was probably the point of the image but not specifically well made for a bunch of reasons.

I think that artistically the idea was just to hint at two different worlds by giving small details of each world - Rich and Poor, and emphasize the vast gap between them using the central "empty" space. I like the idea, it is indeed a smart idea, but as you said Lew, it was not specifically well made, I still think the simple laws of (the broken)composition kill the idea a bit. The central part that serves as a great divide has too much visual weight and lives its own life in the picture. Still not a bad shot in my book. I love thinking photographers.

While I understand what has been explained to me in text, I did not see it in the image. I believe what the photographer saw and how it was shot did not translate very well as a stand alone photo.

I see the intent but I think the two subjects are way too far apart in the frame to make the connection.

Love the idea, I think everything may be a little tight. More frame would make the wall a little less prominent ?
