Found this website and it looks like it might be a good solution for a lens hood either in a pinch out in the field or if you just wanna save a few bucks. I'd probably recommend using either cardstock, cardboard, or some kind of plastic to make them, but in a really tight situation I'm sure paper would work too. I haven't had a chance to make one for myself yet, but I may give it a whirl.
