Do you have a camera? I need material for my film

Hi,
My name is Andreas and I'm from Sweden,
please excuse that my english not always is perfect.
I am a independent documentary filmmaker and right now I
am working on a project thats rather different.

Instead of picking up a subject and then start to collect material,
I will try to first pick up the material and then choose whatever
I find interesting to put it in the film.

This means that I first have some material to collect and that's
why I'm writing here and on other different forums around the world.
If you have a camera of some kind I am asking you this:

Would you like shoot something that includes yourself or things around you and then let me use it for this documentary project?
With "includes" I mean whatever you can come up with, anything.
This will not be some put-together fake documentary, just a film with different fragments from different people from different places.
ANY material of film or sound is in my interest, just remember that
you have to be the owner of the material.

So what would this documentary be about?
If it's just random stuff bolted together then it hardly qualifies as a documentary.
What is the purpose of your film? What is the end product going to be used for?
People are not going to want to submit stuff and then find it is put together or used in a way that is insulting or derogatory.
Also, people are not going to be too happy if they give you stuff for free and you make money with it.
And what about copyright? Are you expecting people who submit film to assign it to you? Because if we keep copyright and then change our minds about you using our stuff after you have made the film...
I think you need to provide us with far more information before any of us entertain the idea of sending you film material.

But right now you seem to be most iritated over a kid that you think
does something the wrong way.
In the post above I gave a presentation of my idea. If everythings
not clear, then just ask. But don't treat me like an amature that does'nt
know what he is doing, why? becouse you don't know what I'm doing.

That is the whole point. Before I can consider your proposal I require to know more. And along the lines of what I put in my first post.
And I'm certainly not e-mailing you before I know more about what you are doing.
I do not think it too much to ask that you put fuller details here. If you are genuine and serious then I do not understand why you are being evasive.
If you have nothing to hide then why try to hide it?

As for treating you like a child, well you are treating us like idiots.
If you have a genuine proposal then state it with an explanation of what you are trying to do, what it is going to be used for, copyright issues and all the other things I mentioned. And do it here, not by e-mail because at the moment you are just coming across as a scam artist who is trying to get us to e-mail him for whatever reason. Probably to try and sell us something. And I get enough spam like that in my mail.
The Internet is full of scam artists and loonies and we get our fair share posting their rubbish here.

the project? I doubt that, I might have missjudged you but the
impression your posts are making is that you want to frame
me for something becouse you are angry at some other peoples bad actions.

I don't know much about what you call "scam artists" but if thats
what you are suspicious about, just tell me in a nice way that you
had some bad experience of spam-people and that you want to make
sure I'm not one of them. This leads in to Chris of Arabia's question,
yes I can prove that I have "connections" with www.aopfilm.com

The server that hosts our site, Surftown, has a horrible spam-filter
so I use my gmail-adress instead.

You also describe me as some kind of a greedy capitalist saying I will
try to make money on other peoples footage without paying them.
Even if I despise your description of what is and what is not documentary
filmmaking - does the description of the film sounds like a box office hit
to you? I'm as independent you can get, but I have an idea and I think
it could become something. Not a box-office hit, but become a film
that I can look at and say "I like this."

It's possible I shuld have been clearer at some of this points, but the
thought with my first post was to give a not to long presentation of
my idea, and se if it caught some interest.
And if you really were interested, why did you not just ask me without
being rude and accusing me for everything possible.

Now, if you still are worried I will try to swindle you I'm sure we can
come up with some kind of economical agreement.
We can even have a contract, I now a nice lawyer specialised
on copyright issues I think can help us.

Andreas is taking this all a bit too personally, hm? It shouldn't come as a surprise to you that people want a little more detail. You're asking us to send you personal photographs for a film that, as far as we know, could be extremely distasteful. And to expect each of us to e-mail you is pretty asinine.

The way you've handled the replies has certainly not helped your case.
Just tell us what the film is, and what you intend to do with our work. Is that too much to ask?
