Planning on earning a meager living, are you?

I don't know how to get into NG, but I've read that their photogs don't make much $$$.

Good luck with that. I have been a subscriber to NG for decades...

Go to location...you live in a wonderous place...take outstanding shots....send NG small low-res file.

So sad but true, modern times are different and magazines are now a sort of portfolio builder for many folks.

Many, not all, but many magazines rely almost entirely on contributed images and articles and due to the number of "photographers" and "writers" these days it has been watered down to the point that you don't have to be a specialist to contribute to what was once a decently paid gig. This is generalizing of course.

This is not a bad thing for magazine readers, and good for the magazine itself.

Do you know how many NG photographers there are?
You have much better odds of getting in the NBA.

I don't know if you have researched this thoroughly but those photographers put in some serious hardship and time away for a lot of those shoots.
