Forums are good for technical things but pretty useless on the artistic side imho. As someone more interested in the fine arts than the commercial arts, I find that most photos I like on this and other forums barely get any comments.

Look at this thread. 4 responses...

Stick around for technical advice if you need any (seems to me like you know what you are doing) but forget about the rest. For that, you are better off with your artist friends. Even if they are not photographers.

You're not helping the cause

I've already come to terms with the fact that my photos won't receive many replies, here or anywhere. You could say that what I do is "quirky" and doesn't follow any kind of rules. There's just a small audience for crap like that

I've learned the best lessons about photography right here on this forum, reading the comments that some of the oldtimers made on random threads. I think that's why I'm back... hoping to catch nuggets of wisdom here and there every once in a while.

By the way, I followed some of your advice and now a few of my photos are being shown at a local art gallery. Thanks again!
