I love shooting pictures of my dog too she's the best, always available and when she isn't, she'll throw me a bone and pencil me in. pun intended.

my favorite is the first, beautiful shot of the eyes.

A quick shot from the other day I took of my dog, I didnt mind the legos there, gives a sense of a house dog with kids.

I like the Pink lego piece, but I think the purple detracts from the DoF... it draws you to the foreground which is somewhat the intent of a shallow DoF... to AVOID the eyes being drawn to the fore or back ground!

You could perhaps clone it out? Or someone else could, but you have NOT okay to edit

OP: I Love both pics! I agree with camerateur! The first one has AMAZING eyes I like the framnig on the first, but I'm not sure about the feet being cut off in the second.

Personally I'm not a fan of the corner vignetting effect either, but thats just more personal opinion than anything!

Really like the second image of the dog by the door. Having that door in the background is just enough to tell a story and trigger a connection, but not too distracting. It adds visual interest.
