We where to take an image using low-key technique to create a moody picture

1.
One light from aprox; 45° of subject from b-hind

2. Same motive and setup apart from some white posterboard as reflector so the machinery (middle) doesen't clip to black

Thanks for sharing. Dominantly is imparting some good wisdom unto everyone it seems. What's your light source? The clip light he asked everyone to have with a small CCFL bulb?
 
Good job my friend. Very symmetrical lighting, dark/light, light/dark. The second one is a personal favorite as you reflected the light to just the right degree. Kudos on the use of the poster board, those things are very versatile for being cheaper then a coke.

I will try again tonight probably after some statistics homework ... Bleh!

Good job on yours though, I agree the 2nd is the better of the 2 because you can see a little more detail..

reznap: Had no ccfl bulb (live in sweden i have no idea where to buy) so i used a 60W "regular" tungsten.

Dominantly: Ty and yes posterboard is awesome ^^
