I am finished with my current post production setup. Too old, Too slow. I have looked at setups, I am aiming for a Laptop/Mac with an IPS monitor , along with external hard drives, Hoping to enable me portability while away and a powerful office setup at home. I have looked at pricey laptops and macs along with a myriad of monitors but am unable to nail down the best reasonably priced/powerful setup. Just like Cameras, the tech that goes with them is always in a state of evolution, I just need to future proof and be able to produce at a rate that is leaps and bounds over what I am now. Please help me with setups your using, are going to use or would use if possible. Lets set this up as a thread that others can come to if looking for advice, I am looking for answers, but if this can help others even better. Maybe with many heads together we can come up with an idea for something that may come in cheaper, quicker and more functional all around. Thanks in advance, hopefully this pans out.

If you want portability invest in a good display calibrator, and get proficient at using it.
If you want accurate photograph edits, you'll need to re-calibrate an IPS display every time you set up to edit under different ambient lighting.

These days there is no future proofing.
Both desktop and laptop sales are dwindling, but professionals will still be relying on desktop computer systems, wide color gamut IPS displays, and using multiple displays so editing application work pallets don't steal display acreage from the image being edited.

More and more image editing applications use the video card GPU for some types of edits and changing/upgrading laptop video cards is not often an option.

Figure on routinely replacing your computer system every 5 to 7 years.
