Great! I’m super jealous, I have been trying to get a dragonfly in flight photo for two summers and have not managed to get one.

I spent the better part of an hour chasing one around today. Never did get a sharp pic.
Well, it is the next day and it did sit still for a moment but turns out it was facing away from me

Shooting them in flight is hard. You need to find a place where they hover, and where there is a clean background. And shoot a lot.

I got addicted to dragonflies about three years ago. Since then the dragonfly population here in Montana has nose dived. I don't see as many dragonflies all summer as I used to see in 15 minutes.

Very nice - I shot that exact same species here in the UK, also in flight but the wings did not come out as well as yours, nice shooting!
