I think the manufactured blur vignette is really badly distracting and the lighting is very flat. Otherwise a decent image. I like the texture of the background and her vintage clothing work well together.

Your intention to use the method is irrelevant. If it's distracting, it's distracting.

Very old methods applied against people or settings that are NOT very old can stand out as more of a mistake than a choice. It's not that you CAN'T make it work, it's just that it has to be chosen for the right images, and it has to be done really really well. I don't think you have either of those things here.

The model's costume and the stone background begin to suggest a theme, but your model should be wearing a hat and strike a different pose for this idea to be successful.

I am not a big fan of the expression here. She looks miserable. I do really like the outfit and I don't mind the old style, though if it could be toned down some it wouldn't be so distracting.
