Drifting C&C please! Slow shutter speed!

I was shooting a local drifting day and tried to slow my shutter speed down to something lower than 1/125. Slowed it down to 1/45 and pulled off this shot, something I am pretty proud of. I have never pulled something like this off. Exif data is available on flickr. Shot with a Nikon D80 and Tamron 70-200 2.8.

Looks pretty good to me, the only thing I might've done differently is crop it in a little tighter, get less of the ground in there, or less of the sky if you choose, the goal would be to get the subject (car) off of the center line and in the lower or higher 1/3 of the frame.

I also think your logo is taking away from the shot.. my eye can't stop looking at it and my brain keeps thinking it's a clipping point cone that just didn't get cloned out.. maybe the location of it. Human eyes generally read from left to right, this includes photos. I think if you really want to add that logo, it'd interfere less with the shot on the right side of the image.

Good pan though, even at that slow speed.

edit:Looking through your flickr.. This is just one example, but I think this is a stronger photo because of the tighter crop and composition

Thank you for the reply! I was thinking of making the logo more transparent so it's not quite as noticeable however I wasn't sure and just went with what I normally use, which is 60% transparent. Might have to drop it down to like 40%.

As for the crop factor, I was trying to get most of the smoke trail in this shot. I do like the shot you posted though.

How about cropping it just above the blue / while stripped barrier and just below the tires. This leave the smoke trail in there and brings the viewers focus on whats important by removing a lot of the extras in the fore / background. You still get the motion effect and trail of smoke.

crop out the dead space at the bottom up to the track line, and it would be much better IMHO. you are set to "my photo's aren't OK to edit" so i can't show you what i mean. Nice shot though
