Figured I won't be seeing these much more this year. So I took the shot. Yet another attempt using "M". I think I am starting to get used to it.

I think I was a bit too far away... I had my 17-85mm lens equipped. I should have taken a minute to attach my 70-300. Oh well... Hindsight is 20/20 they say...

Cool shot.

It's very noisy though. Was it low lighting or did you add grain in post?

Not quite sure why its so noisy... Sky was overcast and gray... not too dark. I was set on ISO 400... Have to play a bit and see if I can solve that issue. I may have changed a setting without realizing it in my RAW conversion software...

Too far away for that lens I would think, there is alot of noise as well....also a green cast to it?

Lol.come here, they are all at home year round:-P

If you were shooting in manual, double check your histogram. Remember that an underexposed digital image will be noisy. You should be shooting to the right of the histogram. It's better to overexpose (as long as you don't blow out your whites) than to underexpose.

Here's an excellent review: Expose Right
