We don't get that kind of color in our buffleheads, here in NW FL...Mallards and redheads look the same, though. I like the angle on the redhead.

To get the colors on the buffleheads you have to a have the sun hitting at just the right angle and its usually for just an instant. The "redhead" is a Common Merganser.
