Took some shots of some ducks my last time out

Image 2 - I had the shutter speed 1/80 on handheld.... I was upset with myself because I should have had it faster

Image 4 - Needed to get the ducks head more in focus

Those pictures are just ducky! ;) As an unsolicited suggestion, perhaps consider spot-metering backlit subjects such as #3 to avoid the meter being 'fooled' and the subject under-exposed.

That was really nice shot!

Thanks for the advice tirediron... I'll try that out the next time I run into the situation

Thanks jasonphoto

I like the action of image 2. I wish they were a bit more in focus though. I'm sure Daffy would be happy.

I think The blurryness in 1,2 n 4 are because of the camera shake/object movement, they seem to be in focus. Correct me if iam wrong.

I was shooting at 1/80... Seems that i can't hold the camera steady at that speed...

Nikon D5100 here as well ;)

I would have choose to shoot at something like 1/250 or 1/400. eliminates hand shake effect and also the object movement, in this case the ducks in water they are never steady at one place.

Yea... I was mad at myself when I brought then to the computer... I had the shutter speed set to 1/80 on the previous shots I took 5 mins prior to seeing the ducks... I was so excited I 4got to change the SS.... Chalked up as another lesson learned!
