Ducks

Cool shot, good action. Love the water drops.

Is it just me or is it red to others?

Yikes! Now that you point it out the water is very red. I'll blame that on a late night editing session. I do like the image and I still hope to salvage it. I was shooting through some brush. Here is the original. Thank you both for the comments.

The color is definitely off, but it really is a very nice catch.

Thanks Dean. Yes, I feel the ducks did their part, now I just need to do mine! I am going to work on it some more and see if I can get the color better.

Indeed, very nice. so often wildlife photography is merely illustrative - as if we don't know what a duck looks like. Less frequent do these images say much about the animal, their behavior and their aesthetic.

You've done a great job at capturing all of this.

Its always good when the subject is " doing" something.

I dont know if I would try to "save" the photo, unless ducks taking flight are a rare occurance in your part of the world, or your never going to venture back to the park. Then the documentarian aspect may well be worth it. Otherwise, shoot, shoot again.

You did a great job removing the foreground branches in post!

A bit wider crop might help make the water more noticeable and give them a direction tonfly into.

I would hope to get them a bit less intertwined sonyoubcan tell the birds apart, for me that would be what I want to see. The females wing on the left is confusing/ distracting to me.

Definitely not an easy task. Mostly ducks are lazy then when they decide to fly, see ya and you miss the shot.

This shot is, nice.

Thank you all for the comments and guidance.

OG I do plan to keep shooting! The park I go to allows hunting in part of the park, so the ducks are pretty skittish in the other part. As son as hunting season ends it will get easier.

I do want to try and save this shot as best I can, partly as a learning experience in Photoshop. I will try your cropping suggestion. And yes, when they do take off I just start shooting and try to keep things in focus. It's always fun to see what ends up on the camera, usually when I download them.
