Durga Puja, the greatest festival for Bengalis

Hi friends,

Durga puja , the worship of the Great Goddess is considered to be the biggest festival of Bengalis . By Bengalis I mean people like me who come from West Bengal state of India.
Although many of the bengalis stay out of Bengal even in USA, celebration of Durga Puja is always a ritual and custom for us. Attached here are 2 such moments from the festival taken with my age old Nikon FM2 and 50mm lens in Minneaplois. Its these moments that keep me tied to my Motherland so closely.

Interesting scenes.
I wish I had been there.
I think that the darks are too black here. The dark tones merge into one another; note the hair of the women in the first shot.
These probably would have had much more punch in color.
