DxO FilmPack 3: Some B&W Conversions

Got onto a black & white conversion kick tonight using DxO's FilmPack 3. So I combed through the archives for shots I thought would make some nice black & white images.

Very nice! I really like the hood pin (probably because I'm a car guy), the knot, and the cob web covered wall. The jars are also really nice is B&W. Though I think they all work well as B&W's. I remember when you posted the first one in color, and I remember REALLY liking it with the vibrant colors. And I think there was one other with one balloon that had just lifted off that was awesome, too.

I don't know much about Filmpack 3. Are you using it as a plugin? How do you like the program as a whole?

Stand-alone. I toyed around with it with some images, but I really didn't care for the color film conversions. I really like the B&W options (although it IS missing Plus-X! :grumpy:

). It does offer some color filter options, but only in steps of Green, Blue, Orange, Red, etc. It's not a slider.

Also, I'd like to see a Curves tool. But hey.... it was free!

Nice but they look too digital and clean, i prefer the real thing + film lasts longer

Yes Gary, but that's the current Zeitgeist. And nobody cares how long "it" will last, we won't live that long. :biggrin:

Sparky, why did you use this particular soft ? Is there marked difference from others ? Some of that images seems to have to high highlights. Especially the one I like most from the bunch; the tomatoes. (Circles & Squares).
