Eagle Fly By

Soooo, I get to a spot I've seen a few eagles before. I turn my car off, go to take a sip of coffee, look to my left and there is an eagle flying right towards my car. Panic stricken I get my window down and fire off a few shots while sitting in my car. Of course the sun was behind the eagle but I got a few keepers. My framing sucked beecause I couldn't really move my camera much so I have weird crops. The last one I couldn't move my camera any further. Lesson learned, I don't know, keep your windows open when the wind chill is 5 degrees?

That second one is the classic eagle position. Beautiful shot.

I like the supersonic position of 2 and 3 .... the light on the wings of 3 is beautiful

Wow, incredible, as usual--I love all of the first three. And once again, your shots make me think perhaps I should take up knitting. :lmao:
I just spent over three hours at my eagle spot; got maybe three real keepers, and NONE of them as good as your fly-by. I did see both of the adults AND a juvenile all flying around at the same time, though, so that was pretty cool.

I think I like #3 because it is a little different from the classic eagle in flight.

Thanks everyone! I finished going through the rest and I found 3 more I like although they are much further away... I think the juvenile eagles are cooler looking...

Lol, Some of you know my truck died 2 weeks ago. I ended up getting a 2001 VW Jetta and I'm barely use to anything in the car. That made it even more difficult I guess the real lesson is if I had a 500 F4 I would have never been able to swing it around in the car and get any shot... Figures the closest I have been to an eagle and it is completely back lit...

#2 in the OP made me literally say aloud "wow". The eagle looks stunning in that frame. Great shots from you, as always lol.

As I was going through my pictures of this eagle, I kept thinking something looked strange about the talon. A few of my FB fans are wildlife rescue people. They seem to think this poor eagle has a broken leg or some kind of infection and that is why the talon is so swollen and large. It is also noticeably hanging down compared to where it should be.. Poor eagle.

I noticed the talon too. Usually when they fly they are tucked in but the one isn't. It was probably injured or he/she was born that way...
