I like the two stationary rockers, but the slight motion blur of the last one is not enough to make any sort of statement.
I think your idea is, perhaps, that it's early in the morning and someone has just left the chair, hence "early riser", but it doesn't work with any clarity.

Maybe try it again with a longer shutter to capture the full arc of movement of the chair, and make the first rocker move rather than the last one. Then the story would be clearer.(IMO).

Technically, a good conversion but slightly underexposed?

A little backstory on this one. I recently went down to see my mother who's been showing significant signs of growing dementia over the last month. Thursday, when I visited her last, she didn't know who I was or my name until we played about 20 minutes of Starts with a C, second son...etc.

It's not fun seeing someone in your family leave though still physically exist. I love her no less, but I miss her terribly. The shot is more about my feelings than her leaving the cognizant world. I made it a bit underexposed and not as coherent as I could have to try and explore what I was feeling and how I was coping with something that's only come into full effect over a three week period.

Sorry to hear about your mother's condition. My granddad suffered with Alzheimer's disease before we lost him, and now my dad who is a "young" 86 is starting to show the early signs...

Perhaps in this case, the "backstory" would have been better served if told with the image rather that after "bumping for critique".
I now have no idea why the image entitled "Early Riser", I would have thought that "Missing You" or "Times Passed" might have been more suitable, under the circumstances.

Because in my thinking she was leaving earlier than I ever anticipated.

The image is much more powerful with your back story, and definitely should have been included in the OP. I kind of know what you're going through. Sorry to hear it. Powerful photo.

I got it. It think it's a bit trite, I swear I've seen then sort of thing before.

But it works, and it's a good sample of the form, for sure. A lot more subtle and appealing than a lot of these (cf. Francesca Woodman).
