Earthquake Lake Montana

I was able to get up to Montana last weekend for a few days. This is a spot on the Madison river where a earthquake slid and dammed up the river. I like all the dead trees out in the lake. Ever since I was a little it has always impressed me how resilient they look. The dynamic range was fairly intense so I bracketed a few and pushed them through photomatix. The following is what I came up with.

A nice image, but the trees in the foreground really don't work for me. The halos (?) around them make them more obvious and distracting as well.
I think it would have worked better without that tall one that almost cuts the image in two.
