Edited with new Pics****Low-Light Mantis

[Dean_Gretsch]

We had hail, tornado watches, warnings, flash flood warnings and watches and more rain than we needed last evening. This morning gave us fog. Perfect for my first day off this week Not my ideal photography conditions, but we have to take what we are given.

Nice shots Dean, what did you say to him to make him cry?

[Dean_Gretsch]

Unfortunately, that is a tear of joy! What he said to me did make me cry..." Finally, a creature uglier than I!"

[Gary A.]

Please ... Mantis are beautiful ... odd looking ... very odd looking, but beautiful.

[Dean_Gretsch]

Yes, Gary, you are right. There is beauty in all of the creations if we look deeply enough.

PS- Some contrast and a bit of dodging in #1 would punch up the image. #1 is my fave.

Thanks for those tips, Gary!

Some things are too creepy as macros! Great job and they are fascinating close up.

I think I like macro because of the details we miss in everyday life, Cheryl! Thanks

Excellent series Dean.

Thank you very much for those kind words.

It was back yesterday and today. Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would just add a couple more taken today.
1 Do you see what I see?

2 Full Frontal

Nice images of a horrible looking creature

Thanks, Jeff. They are even scarier up close while getting their pic taken, lol.
