Photos NOT OK to edit

I think you took it a little over, but I like the detail that came out of the eyes. Maybe it just needs a bit more contrast? Enough to darker the shadows in the mouth? A little bit of vibrant couldn't hurt here either.

Wow, yes the eyes are WAY over done.

thanks for the comments....is this better..a little toned down. I'm really trying to learn a good balance while editing. can someone tell me the pros and cons of this? I obviously need to work on getting pictures with better exposure straight out of the camera..which i'm working on. Overall, I do like this picture though. :)

I too, think this is a cute photo but something is seriously going on with the eyes. Even in the most recent one they still look overdone...almost like marbles. Are you just adding a ton of clarity or what?

I would also clone out that white pole in the background :)

Ok thanks! I looked at the photos on your blog, they are beautiful! Thanks for the tips. I think I'm going to start all over on this edit haha. This is my son and his eyes are like grayish brown right now and I never get any color on the eyes when I take photos of him...so I tries to lighten them a little and do an eye pop but it was too much. But when I don't lighten them ppl comment that they are too black. So I'm trying to figure out what looks best also yeah I think I over sharpened.

Thank you! My daughter has hazel eyes and it can be tricky to get the color to show up. If you add too much clarity/contrast/shadows they look brown. I would try to position him so the light is on his face rather than behind him....in other words, face him towards the window :)
