Effects on these awesome photos, how?

Hi,

I've created a designer toy, a Forever Alone figure, and is attempting to take the promo shots myself using the Nikon L120. Any advice or tips on achieving the looks in the photo below in photoshop?

I have the figure head and a miniature office chair. What's the cheapest way I can do the bright screen, hand and mouse?

The writing instruments look like they're lit with a single overhead diffuse light and definately a shallow depth of field.

The chair thingies..... lots of light flooding in from all directions.

The booze.... a single off-camera flash.

The screen image.... that's probably all done with software, no camera image at all.

They look like expensive ****y speakers

Critically in this photo the flood lighting is also lighting up more than just the subject, it's hitting the backgrounds as well.

you don't. That isn't done with Photoshop... It's done with proper lighting.
