Is it me, o the image seems very soft?

I think the plane of focus is on the eggs, where it is not really obvious.

I quite like this, but I think the light is a little harsh. The shadows are a bit too hard-edged for me to love it. Nice composition, well considered placement of objects!

The original is quite a bit sharper than this. I shot it on 35mm film and scanned the negative. It lost a bit in the scanning process. The whisk was intentionally a bit out of focus to force attention on the shape and texture of the eggs.
I appreciate the comments. amolitor, I know you do not hand out compliments willy-nilly. I'm pleased you found something to like in the composition. The actual print from negative has so much more sharpness and nuanced shading that I just can't convey here.
