Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I was in Egypt a few months ago and shot some images on film. My purpose was to try and replicate the photos taken by Francis Firth in the 1860s. Those are rather stark images that had been toned to some degree. Here's what I have so far. They were shot using an Yashica 35mm GSN on Freestyle EDU 100 film. Then developed in D-23 and scanned using an Epson scanner, and processed in Photoshop.

The pictures themselves look really good, but its hard to distinguish your subject in each. I really like the second picture you have because of the contrast in the columns, i only wish we could see more of just those two!

Francis had a bit more symmetry, but the exposure looks dead on!

Crop #3 tighter (lose some of the left side) and clone out the dog in #2. Firth's pics also were just a bit more contrasty. He was a wet plate collodian photographer and it is a marvel he was able to produce anything in Egypt given the heat and using glass plates...but he did. You might want to go a tad lighter on your toning as these look more like Ambrotypes than wet plates.

Thanks for the great feedback! I will definitely use it.
