Seen a lot of amazing bird shots lately, time for something a bit heavier now. :)
Sharing a few (maybe a few too many) of my fav elephant shots., some of them taken quite a while back. C&C welcome as always.

Great shots. Love the interaction between them.

Great stuff Raj. That's the only thing my local zoo doesn't have at the moment is elephants. Great to see them again.

And the only thing that we don't have are the Gorillas, envy you for that! :(

#4 and #5 really stand out to me, I like the composition

Thanks a lot Bill :)

Thanks a lot. I'm glad you noticed, I am always on the look out for some sort of emotion whenever I shoot animals. My camera and my technique may be crappy, but I compensate with (really) long hours of shooting.. I choose about 3-4 shots out of 50 shots I take.

Great stuff. #5 is tops with one little niggle - it seems just a bit cramped to me. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks baturn.. I revisited the RAW file after reading this and remembered why I cropped it so poorly. It's actually cropped from the right, the left side was left untouched. Their was another elephant on it's right which I was trying to get in the frame for this shot. But it felt nicer this way later on.. I am glad you liked my shots.. :)

A huge fan of interaction and behaviour in wildlife shots and these are excellent for that. #5 is just gorgeous, looks so darn cute Raj, really well done. Excellent details and textures in these and Elephants are a favourite for sure. Great shots from a zoo, heck you even got some birds in there ;)

All the best Raj, beautiful shots of wonderful subjects !!

Danny.

Thanks Danny! You're very kind :). The one with the birds, i.e. #6 is my fav shot, maybe because it turned out exactly how I pictured it. When I saw the pigeons sitting there, I framed my shot and waited almost 5 minutes with my fingers half pressed on the shutter button to get this shot.

Good on you Raj. If a bird is on the ground, perch or on water, they will eventually take off. The secret is to be prepared for it and it was well worth it in the last shot. Congrats ;)

All the best over there Raj, well done with the patience. Stubbornness and patience are the best tools we have and they cost nothing.

Danny.
