Been gone for a while, now that life has settled down, it's time to come back and get my technique critiqued and try and grow in the TPF community again. Anyways hello. Please critique your heart out. Strobist: Vivitar 285hv boomed camera right reflected by silver umbrella @ 1/4 power. SB-24 model left shot through softbox @ 1/4 power.
First I think the partial desaturation works for this image. From a composition standpoint I would have prefered a little more open crop, especially at the chin, it is cut just a little close to the lips for me. Great focus the eyes and the skin texture on the forhead are pin sharp. The one distraction that does catch my atrtention is the double catchlights in the eye, I think I would clone one of them out Much stronger work here then the two images I just saw in the other post.
Thanks Vegas, you're right I agree the crop is off, I tried my best to work with it though. Thank you for the critique!
