It's sitting on a table with a white paper backdrop. Studio lights (fluorescent) from each side then one overhead. I photoshopped (quite poorly) the black areas. Just selected and deleted the white. There is a lot you could do if you played around with it. I have to admit not my original idea. I saw someone else that had done it and I thought it looked really cool.
