Photos NOT OK to edit
Hello All,

I'm very new to digital photography but I do have a good background in digital video. I recently purchased a Canon T2i. It currently has the kit 18-55 lens so I'm looking for an upgrade. My needs include the following - Good build quality, good for video as I will be shooting a decent amount with the camera, good low light shooting, and fast focusing. My price range is $200-$750.

I've done some research and picked out a few lenses that stood out well.
Prime lenses - Canon "Nifty Fifty" 50mm, Canon 28mm 1.8 USM
Wide Zoom Lens - Tokina 11-16mm
Standard Zoom Lens - Sigma 17-70mm

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Jay

The Canon 'nifty fifty' is cheap for a reason, poor build quality.

The Tokina 11-16 mm has a good reputation.

Canon lenses will be more consistant as far as focus speed, and look for Canon lenses that have the USM focus motor.

To shoot good video, you will need several hundred dollars in attachments to make the T2i work well.
