I popped up to Seven Sisters to take some snappy snaps and decided I'd take two types to show, HDR and exposure blending.
I took the bracketed ones for HDR before the exposure blending one, so whilst the blended one has nicer colours (sunset time) it shouldn't really show too much of a difference. Both images have only had two forms of PS processing, a bit of saturation and sharpening.
Blended Exposure
The image below was created by taking two exposures, one correctly exposed for the landscape area, the second being correctly exposed for the sky. The sky exposure is literally painted onto the landscape exposure using layer masking in photoshop. Please note you can see the silhouette of where it has been painted, this was extremely rushed to show for this thread.
HDR
This was taken used 3 exposures bracketed according to the D90, then merged together in photomatix and set to the most realistic setting.
