Exposure Time?

Can I ask a dumb question, what is the difference between shutter speed value and exposure time? Thanks.

Ev is the combined, nonspecific value of both shutter and/or aperture:

+2 Ev could mean +1 time (speed) value and +1 aperture value, +2 speed value ±0 aperture value or +2 aperture value ±0 speed value.

Ev could also refer to anything else that overall affects exposure:

-1 Ev likewise could mean +2 time value, -1 aperture value with a -2 stop neutral grey filter.

Ev is essentially saying "the exposure changed/need to change by this ammount, regardless of how you do it" If in AE mode, the camera will adjust the exposure according to it's program: in Shutter Priority Mode it will adjust aperture, in Aperture priority Mode it will adjust shutter time, in Program Mode it will adjust according to a pre-programmed table, in Auto Mode it will do whatever it feels like.

More specified translation in exposure include Time Value (Tv) refers only to exposure time and not aperture, Aperture Value (Av) refers only to aperture and not time, Filter Factor refers only to effect of the filter and not any mechanical effects of shutter or aperture.
