These were fun, but I wish I had my hands on something other than the nifty fifty for them.

For me, in #1, if the water filled pattern continued for the entire frame it would have been a good image.

As it is, the change from air to water kinda breaks the symmetry and the flow.

And in #2, seeing the border of the strainer grounds the abstraction and take away the mystery.

I think you are right.

Man. No matter how hard I tried, I wasn't faster than the water!

try using vegetable oil.

or soap.

But probably not both ;-)
