Thanks - I love the one of my neice too. I am having it enlarged to 16x20 for my office. All that grain (noise) will be funky - in a cool way. Funny thing is, when I grabbed my camera, I had exactly this effect in my head before I took a single pic.

Couple of reasons. These were taken at my fathers house which is pretty dark - even on a sunny day. Dark and full of antiques.

I didn't want to use flash cause I thought it would have made things look cheesy. Plus, when I got the idea to take these, I had the black and white, grainy look in my mind. My brother is in a rockabilly band so I was looking for this funky look. Usually he plays the upright bass - here is a couple more of him playing the bass.
