What's new

Family photos, sh!t load of snow

1. IMO it's too dark and has too much contrast and saturation. The background is also a bit distracting. I also think that maybe the littler child is slightly OOF?

2. I like the left photo A LOT. VERY awesome expression captured :D In the right photo, the highlights in the shirt are somewhat blown out, and the detail is lost. Because of the angle of his face, there is a loss of light on the side farthest away. This wouldn't really be an issue if the shirt wasn't so bright in contrast.

3. The older child has so much natural light on his face that the highlights are blown out. I like the right photo....except....the highlights are in danger of being....too bright.

4. These are sweet. :) Some of the best of the set.

5. Another good photo. The background is on the verge of being a bit busy, though.

6. Once again, lovely photos. Wonderful emotion captured.

7. A little bit too bright IMO.

8. Too bright, and the skin tones are a bit yellow.

9. I like both of these.

10. Same as 8.

11. One of my favorites of the set. :)

12. The left photo is good, the right photo seems rather flat.

13. Both are too bright, but I think I understand what you were going for. I think it works for the left photo, but the right photo, I think it would look better darker.

These last two are great. The kid is so cute. :)

Nice work, Schwetty. They look awesome.

The only thing that really irked me was the underexposure on photo #1... I didn't feel like it went with the rest of the set. Other than that, outstanding work bud!

Thanks for the detailed CC. Please see my responses in Red.

These first three are just warming up. So I was just trying to do candid with little pose. I should have faced them toward the light more.

Yeah, wasnt really posed. Just them being goofy and not listening LOL.

This is always personal preference IMO. I could probably bring it down a stop. I kinda like the bright look. It looks fresh.

8. Too bright, and the skin tones are a bit yellow.

8 and 10 both have the same processing as 7. Maybe I could fix it a tiny bit.

11. One of my favorites of the set. :)

It looks flat because actually there is a million of tiny snow flying all over place. There was a small breeze that was hard enough to knock off bunch of snow from the branches.

13. Both are too bright, but I think I understand what you were going for. I think it works for the left photo, but the right photo, I think it would look better darker.

Thanks Josh.

Thanks tyler.

A friend of the mom saw this set and immediately asked for my info. So pretty much I am shooting at the same location, same time, same snow (melted a bit), but it will be 20 degree warmer tomorrow. While I am excited to do it, I hate it when my client can compare the result.
