Your critiques are as always wanted and welcome!

IMO I think they are great.. Not sure about the angle on the 1st one tho. I want to see her face more.. : )

Yeah maybe next time I could get a little closer and look up at her more..........

How do you guys feel about the pp? I just seem to feel a discord with my choices, but I haven't really been feeling any of the presets either. For the life of me I can not figure out photoshop actions even though I have spent hours on trying to do just that, so for now, I am still just using Lightroom. Any advice about what I could do differently?

#1 - This is surely a cherished moment, but the capture is off.

#2 - Love this image. Unfortunately, the thumbs/fingers/digits get in the way. Consider a slightly tighter crop.

#3 - Again, another great moment. however, your whites are blown out, there is no detail in the child's top. I would also take some off the left side of the frame.

#4 - I really like the potential of this shot. There is a power in the young boy. This is well documented. The lines of the receding path are a visual bonus. I don't care for the heaviness of the timber (?) in the upper right, but that can be lessened somewhat. However, there are a few things that distract. Mainly the lighting. This is obviously a late day shot with the long shadows playing their part. You have some very bright parts and some very deep shadows. IMO, what would help are 1) a difussion panel to reduce the harshness of the light source (sun) which would help n the glowing skin and 2) some fill light to lift some of the deep shadows.... particularly in his crotch and shoes... there are no details to be seen.

These all have their merits. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much! How is the capture off in #1? I would like to redo it and do it better, but I am not sure what you mean, is it blurry or the angle wrong? When I have tried to fix blown parts of a photo when using the recover slider it makes the rest of the pic seem blah, is there a way to correct it without this effect? I know, I have been told never to allow white shirts, I wasn't even thinking!
