Good to see you back Daryll! While I really like the way you've rendered her, I'm not as fond of the overall image for a couple of reasons: (1) The tilt doesn't work for me here; I like the tilt of her body and the wall, but the off-plumb trees? Not so much; and (2) I'd really like more model and less surroundings, especially that building or whatever it is lower, image left. I'd go with a tight crop on her and chalk it in the 'Win' column.

Shooting down a wall like this is a technique called skimming, according to a book that I read around 1990, a book specifically about portraiture.

When I first saw this picture last night I did not see the Tilt really. But now some 12 hours later John has pointed it out and I cannot unsee it, but it doesn't bother me.

I agree there are often happy unexpected results in photography especially digital photography but while there is some level of appeal the more I look at this photo I just can't appreciate the tilted view.

Yeah, the cropped hat really bothered me too. That's where I tried to redo it but even though I got shots where the hat wasn't cropped, and there was no tilt, it just didn't catch me like this one did (unable to capture that magic).

She brought that cute hat for a reason. Why am I looking at a tree over there and an out of focus brick wall? Is this photo for you or for her? I'd think about doing something you find interesting in another way instead of in a portrait that's for the client.

This was taken with my 85mm. Love that thing. Between that and the 35mm f/1.4, it's pretty much all I use now! I still use the 70-200 if I need more compression.

Trade For Prints was the original idea and that was commonly called TFP.... which later became tfcd or trade for compact disc, and now some twenty years later is just called TF or even just "trade"... the idea being that money is not a medium of exchange.
