Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
]hi all

Here are a couple of pics I took on my first attempt with my d7000 (first dslr) camera. No flash used. (I'm very proud that I learnt to use the iso, apeture and shutter speed settings on my first try). Please tell me what I could have done to improve them. these haven't been edited

no pics.

make sure you hit the "preview post" button when posting photos to make sure the links are good.

No wonder there are no pics. The URLs don't end in .jpg.
They MUST end in .jpg, else no photo will ever show!
Make sure you get a URL off Flickr that really ends in .jpg and put that one into the
IMG] bracket and you'll be there. (No blank in second bracket, of course!)

i see pics... but they're not amaaaazing. a few wonky horizons and i don't like the last 2, unless movement was what you were going for.

Good exposures though.

movement was what I was going for and the horizon was taken from a boat so even with a tripod its going to be wonky.

Didn't expect you to say my FIRST pics would be amazing but as this is a BEGINNER forum a little more constructive feedback please.

I don't want to be using photoshop to make bad pics average, I want to be taking good photos and then using photoshop to make them great so at this stage these are unedited ie wonky horizon

and these were all handheld. no tripod

They're quite shot snappy imho. The church ones are all very dark and apart from the smoky one are quite un-interesting. The last one looks a little noisy, what ISO did you use.

the exposures are wrong to start with. The ones with people are blurry and out of focus. composition is tres average at best

In order to point out something positive at last, I must say that I like how you worked with the given light in the third photo. To me, that one's quite attractive. Although that one's got a flaw, too, as I'd have loved to see the entire statue, feet included, which would have been easy to get by turning the camera into a vertical frame. You NEVER did that (apparently), and that would be my first suggestion for the future: determine if your subjects are long or wide, and give them the right frame accordingly. (Faces are long, by the way...)

I suggest you put a blank space between the links so your photos don't flow one into the other upon presentation, and when you post as many as you did, please do number them, for then it's much easier for the viewers to comment on an individual one without having to scroll and count.

Notredam! I was there last week (didn't see that pic yesterday) that's my fave pic. Here's my crappy snapshot of it lol i really like yours, because of the light and the moon n it's just nice to look at.... you chopped the top right corner off though :(
I was tryna give constructive critisism.. you didnt really make any points about the work, just said 'gimme feedback' didn't mean to sound harsh :-/ i just thought the movement pics (especially the first one) were unjustified

thank you all.
i will take your points on board and keep trying.:
I need to learn about composition and what makes a great photo etc.
The last one (pic 5?) had an iso of 2500

:)

oooof shiiiit, thats a high iso. mind you the snapshot i popped on here was 1600, u shud take a tripod, use iso 400 and use a looong shutter speed, it'll come out reli cool if movement is what ur into

sorry pic 7 was 2500
pic 6 (the girl with the hood) was 1250 - it was getting dark.
Pic 5 (the 2 girls) was 200
