Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have a few photos here I'd like you guys to look at and comment on. Just trying to get better!

In the following picture I was trying to show how big this storm was over the plains.

I liked this one because of the dramatic sky. For some reason it doesn't look as dramatic as it did on my comp.

In the third I was trying to show the huge expanse of the landscape. I'm around 7000' up and the view was amazing. (Taken at Logan Pass)

In this photo I was trying to show the same as the previous photo. The huge landscape.

Any critique would be helpful. I'm trying to find a picture to get printed for my apt. Thanks guys!

Have you calibrated your screen?
They look a bit dull to me and it is possible that your screen is too bright (as are most monitors and laptops.)

How does this look to you?

brightened, increased dynamic range with levels, a little clarity
The crop is to emphasize the width of the land and the big sky (taking out the plain sky).

This would look great with the bottom sharpened a bit more and printed big.

I have calibrated it. I just realized I uploaded the original file. The other picture I have after pp looks almost identical to the one you posted. Thanks! I've been thinking of printing this one but I gotta find one that wows people.

Taken into LR3, converted into five different exposures, (-2, -1, 0, 1, 2), tone mapped in photomatix pro.

I'd love to see #4 after some PP, looks like it has great potential

Great minds think alike!!
Even though the others have more 'stuff' I think this one has the wow because the central point of the others is quite close and this clearly says, we are so small compared to all that up there.
I think a lot of the impact will depend on having the foreground detail sharp and clean, particularly the fence.

All nice, I think.

Im really not sure how you made such a nice looking photo doing that process. Here is what KmH has to say when I did the same process w/ Photomatix Pro,

"Photomatix is what made your first image so muddy.

You have to make 3 or more exposures in the camera. Making 3 exposures with editing software, will not work."

where did you quote this from?

A previous thread of mine, sent you a pm as well

Wow, those photos look cool. I should have tried more hdr shots while I was there.

Anyone have any critique on the photos besides pp? What could I have done better?
