film time meteor shower

hey all ive searched on google and didnt find anything and was wondering if anyone on here has done anything like this. i am going out and going to try and photograph a meteor shower by long exposures. i have 100 film speed and probably going to be far way from lights but still have little ambient light around. does anyone have experience in this and could help me out with letting me know roughly what would be the best times to use?

i went to a beach and there was ambient light and the moon was out in full force so it was fairly light for being night. i was using 400 film speed and 200 iso and the negatives came out really underexposed. each photo was around 30 minutes also. any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks!

Hmmm .... I've never done this, but wouldn't a meteor trail just be lost in a long exposure? They're not all that bright and I would think they'd be averaged into the background. I'll be interested to hear how these are done.
