I'm not sure if I'm asking this the right way. A while ago someone was explaining the differences in film and digital exposure. I remember there being different ranges of exposure in stops between film and digital, but I can't remember the numbers. Can anyone tell me?

For example, I think it was film has 12 stops of exposure. (just not sure if that was the right number)

thanks.

I think the human eye has the 12 stop... but I don't really remember...

I think the film handles overexposure better than digital, and also has a bit more range...

But then you can shoot raw and underexpose, then curve the image and get a very neat pic.

So I think the digital is better.
