Photos NOT OK to edit
I want to mix my style of photography as I like pushing ISO. I like noisy pictures. Most may not, but some do. I want to give my bride/groom the option to pick either with flash photography or just with ambient light. With that said, here are couple pics I took and put them side by side

C&C is welcome. If any suggestions, would love to hear them!

If you use flash well they would never know if you used it or not, i would shoot with the lowest ISO and add noise then you can always have a shot with noise or without

I like the "look" of the photo.

I am bothered by the backwards text... But the photo is very cool besides that.

I would maybe flip it horizontally so the jacket is on the right side of the frame. But that's just me...

Bus thanks. It's been mentioned on another forum. I did

thanks. I like this guy's work. Lancashire Wedding Photographer Jeff Ascough - Documentary wedding photography covering Lancashire, Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, the North West, and UK
very inspiring work.

When I have a 2nd body, I'm going to do similar shots if I can w/ both bodies, one w/ flash and one w/out and pushing ISO

Took a look at the website--I really enjoy his work, as well. Some people may not be the biggest fan of grain, but to each their own. In the end, we all find our own style. I know when I had worked at a photography studio in the beginning, they weren't really the biggest fan of my style. They liked to over saturate their pictures beyond belief, and I liked bold/high contrast pictures. Glad you've found your niche :)

Yes Rausch. What I want to do is, for one wedding, do both. I want to mount a fast lens to one body and use flash with another body. I want to take similar pictures. That way I have two styles to offer my clients. Of course that'll just be for 1 wedding. I won't do it everytime. But at least if I have two styles to show, I will know what they would prefer.

Or like GSgary said, just add noise to all my images. But not sure if PP noise looks as good as original noise?

If you're concerned about the appearance of natural noise..It'd be nice to even have an assistant for that wedding, just so you wouldn't have to be alternating bodies so much. Otherwise, it's really easy to add noise in PS or LR.. Just depends how much you want to do. :)

Yes Gary, you're told me about him. I'm keeping my eyes on him closely because I might take that offer of doing his workshop. I am not 100% sure yet but I will know closer to my travel date. I am going to start posting some ads on Rome Craiglist for some weddings. I may have a photographer who's agreed to let me shoot side by side w/ him in Lithuania. So I've got high hopes for the trip. If all fails, I'll just do the workshop. I hope its not too many people taking it. I hate fighting for good shots.

Yes you're right, I was JUST thinking the same thing. I'd hire an assistant. But he's gonna know what to do for sure.

I'm not allowed on his courses because i live only 20 miles away, nobody within 40 miles is allowed on his courses so you should be ok

I like your style nice photo.

I really like black and white shots. If you like grainy then just go ahead and experiment further. Photography is a creative process you may like one thing right now and later it might take you somewhere else. Good shots there.

LOL tell him you moved to 50 miles away. Or if you have American accent we can get you a fake mustache and pretend we're (well I am) American tourists :lmao:

thank you

thank you. I really will look more into this. I didn't really need the ISO to pull the image off but I wanted to see what it'd look like if I did. I shot them at 12,800 to see the effect.

I don't know if I would want all my shots to be noisy or if I'd only have noisy shots for indoor shots in churches and receptions. Here are some pix I had from the national cathedral but this time. I didn't add any noise or anything just shot at ISO 4000 which to be honest doesn't show much noise for these pictures. I guess I'd only care to have noise if it is truly needed. As in if I come across somewhere where I really need to shoot at ISO 25,600 or something.
