I was SO nervous shooting a strangers kid, but all in all I got some(IMO) decent shots. I do know they are no where near where they need to be to be able to charge for my services, so I again ask for advice on how to do better! Thanks! (also most shot at 100ISO 1/250 around4.0/f with 50mm lens on my canon 20d)

I really like 3 & 6! 7 is very cute too, but full length, including feet would have been an improvement.

For critique:
1 has some exposure issues and the crop is very tight. This couldn't be framed because most of the mother's head would be chopped.
2 could use a bit more cropping (most across the top).
4 selective color... just do a forum search of the term and you'll find out what most photographers think of it. A lot of consumers really like it, especially with the tutu photos (another cliche sometimes frowned upon. I love it though!). Careful with keeping the photo straight, it seems to be tilting to the right.
5 Cute mommy/daughter shot. There's a lot of empty space at the top and hardly any at the bottom.

I commend you for consistently shooting in portrait!!!

Do you have a grey card? There also seem to be some WB issues throughout the set.

Thank you for the feedback! I agree with the selective coloring too, but I think the mom will really like it. Yes I do have a grey card, but just got it in the mail yesterday and need to learn how to use it. Any tips?

Ummm... no lol I have WB issues as well, and need to replace my lost grey card. I only had it for a few days before I misplaced it. It was the size of a credit card so I don't hold much hope in finding it.

Do a google search of how to use it. I find youtube videos to be most helpful.

#2 pose not bad, framing is off
#3 pose and frame much better, but uneven light hurts this shot
#4 pose and light not good, frame tilted
#5 pose, light, and frame all good
#6 pose good, light not bad, frame is too low
#7 pose missed the smile, light not good, frame crops legs
