[Charlie takes photos]

Smoke from the Sand Fire (Currently burned 33,000 acres as of July 25th) mixed with sunset created an intense red hue. I tried to capture the moment. All of the "clouds" are actually smoke from the fire. There were no clouds that day.

I'm also a complete newbie, so any critique is welcome. Thanks.

I have no critique, but just wanted to say wow at your explanation that those aren't clouds but are actually smoke. That really changes the context of the image from "just" a sunset shot to something very different. Hope no one was hurt.
